Vietnam Swans' 2012 ANZAC Friendship AFL Match and Weekend events promo

At the MCG on ANZAC Day, 2012, the Essendon and Collingwood players will take to the field with the sounds of the Last Post still resonating in their ears. They will be remembering the sacrifice and mateship of the ANZACS and the so many lives lost at war. In Vung Tau, (125km from Ho Chi Minh City / Saigon) on 21 April 2012, the 3rd Annual ANZAC Friendship Match will pay respect to all lives lost, particularly during the Vietnam War, and, of moving forward embracing peace and friendship in Vietnam 2012 and beyond. The Vietnam Swans had humble beginnings over a few beers at a pizza shop in Hanoi in the late 1990s and the Club has progressively moved forward forging closer ties with the Vietnamese through charity work and also providing some expats with a temporary family while living in the country. The Club would love to see you at the 2012 ANZAC Friendship Match with the trophy decided between the Swans and the China Reds. On 25 April, an ANZAC Dawn Service will be held commemorating the lives of all Australian and New Zealanders who have paid the ultimate sacrifice including 18 Australian soldiers who lost their lives in the Battle of Long Tan on the 18th of August 1966.
